2020 Event Cancelled

Fargo runners,

As you know, the United States has seen a continued surge in COVID-19 cases that, unfortunately, shows no signs of slowing. Although we had hoped to produce the Sanford Fargo Marathon at the end of next month, we’ve deemed the risk to our staff, our volunteers, our runners, and the local communities that host our events to be too great to conduct any in-person events in 2020. Please check your email for more information regarding this change.

This was not an easy decision, as we know you were just as excited to run Fargo this year as we were to produce the event. Even though we can’t all run together, we still want to do everything in our power to give you a positive and healthy running experience this year. So, we’re giving you several options to choose from, including a virtual run complete with the awesome swag you signed up for. Virtual marathon and half marathon runners will also receive the running jacket pictured below, provided to you courtesy of Sanford Health, who encourages everyone to get out and move. Whether you run, jog or walk, it’s a great way to get fit and stay healthy. Please check your email for additional information.

On behalf of the Sanford Fargo Marathon team, we thank you for your understanding during these trying times, and we look forward to getting out there and running with you virtually in 2020 and in-person next year.

The Fargo Marathon courses are what makes our races unique!

This is a great course! You will never be alone on the course the people of Fargo get you through the miles with music, food, cheers, and support! The organization of the race itself is wonderful! I’ll always run Fargo if I am able!

I’ve ran in this race several years now and continue to be more impressed every single year. As long as I’m able, I’ll continue to be back every year. This year I ran the full marathon and I really can’t say enough good things. I’m amazed at everything that goes into this week.
