Fargo Marathon Event Details

The Fargo Marathon returns May 27th-31st, 2025 for its 21st anniversary with 7 live events. Find all your important race day information like details on race day parking, shuttles, packet pickup, aid/nutrition, or elite runner perks below. Expo

The Fargo Marathon features the two-day Expo prior to the race, which all participants must visit in order to pick up their race packets. Free and open to the public, this expo features the latest in running technologies, fitness apparel, health & nutrition information and interactive displays. Stay tuned for exciting updates regarding vendor lists and more!

All runners must visit the expo to pick up their race number, gear bag and race shirts/hoodies.

Cyclothon, May 27th: 12:00 pm-5:45 pm at Buffalo Wild Wings (North)
May 29th: 3:00 pm-7:00 pm
May 30th: 12:00 pm- 6:30 pm

View our Campus Parking Lot Map to find parking for the Expo. Participants may use lots S4, G4, G5, G6 and S5. These lots are first-come, first-serve. Note: “R” lots is are off-limits for parking.

We do not offer packet pickup on race morning, Saturday May 31st. In order to get your packet, you will need to bring the email confirmation you received during race week that includes the unique QR code for race week. This can be printed out and/or shown on your mobile device.

If you cannot pick up your race packet before packet pickup closes Friday evening, we have two options for you:

First, you may have another person pick it up for you as long as they have the confirmation email. We do not offer packet pickup on race morning, Saturday, May 31st.

The second option is packet mailing. With this option, your runner’s kit will be mailed to you in advance of race day and expo. Packet mailing registration is closed as of May 4, 2025.

Parking & Shuttles

Parking will be available at the Fargodome, in lots C, D, E/F, G North & South.

Shuttles will run on race day, May 31st, from 5am until approx. 2:30pm. The shuttles will pick you up from the below locations and take you to the start/finish lines.

  1. Radisson Downtown
  2. SCHEELS Arena
  3. SW lot of West Acres Mall

Awards

Awards are given to the top 3 men and women overall, and the top male and female in the following age groups: 20 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

Results & Photos

Free high-res photos and your race time will be emailed to all participants as soon as they cross the finish line. Check back closer to race day for a link to all results and photos.

Aid Stations & Nutrition

Your experience as a runner is so important to us, and part of that experience includes an adequate number of Aid Stations (Water & Electrolytes). The full and half marathon courses in Fargo have aid stops located approximately every two miles.

Our Aid Stations have water and Mountain Berry Powerade (Thank you Coca-Cola for your continued sponsorship!). In addition to the above, we also provide GU Energy Gels to the full marathoners at approximately miles 10 and 20 and to the half marathoners at approximately mile 8.5. A variety of flavors will be available.

We will have medical dropout points located at miles 7.8, 15, and 21 for the full marathon, and mile 8 for the half marathon. Exact locations and details will be provided as we get a little closer.

GoFar Challenge

Are you someone who really likes a challenge? Then the GoFar Challenge is for you!

The concept is simple: run or walk the 5K on Friday evening and then run the 10K, Half Marathon, or Full Marathon Saturday morning!

You’ll receive the ultimate swag kit including the 5K swag item and a finisher’s medal, the swag item and finisher’s medal from your Saturday race, an exclusive Fargo GoFar Challenge bonus item, and all the bragging rights you want!

This event was introduced in 2010 and was an instant success! Now in our 15th year, it has morphed into something big! We have limited space for 1,500, so if you’re “up to the challenge,” secure your spot and sign up now!
