From the large variety of music on the course to the morning long coverage by KFAN radio, the city does it's best to promote the race... Perfect ND option for 50-staters.
V. B. from NY, NY (6/7/12)
Terrific shirt (long-sleeve, zip-up collar) and great bag (Adidas, sturdy) and fun medal. Best bag check I've ever experienced - I approached the bag check area, the man spotted my bib number and handed me my bag immediately. They had some great system for laying out the bags which deserves extra gold stars... This was a fun, well-organized race and a big thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make sure everything ran smoothly.
R. K. from Minneapolis, MN (6/3/12)
Overall it was a great race. The spectators are incredible, race is well organized... I would definitely run this one again.

Fargo is a fast and fabulous course. Some might find the constant turns cumbersome but I loved running through the neighborhoods. Finishing at the Fargodome (on the jumbotron no less!) made me feel like a real athlete. My New Favorite Marathon.
Kent Moore from Roswell, GA (5/30/12)
The Fargo Marathon is a well-organized event with FANTASTIC community support. Everyone was friendly, one of the few races I've done where it seemed like the locals actually wanted the runners to be there! Packet pickup at the FargoDome couldn't have been any easier. Great swag, nice expo, too... Good web site, and good communication. Fargo: the town and the marathon, were both fabulous. I think I've got a new favorite marathon!
S. P. from TN (5/29/12)
Great event from expo to finish line! The volunteers were super friendly and helpful! If you register for both the 5k and marathon, you can be a part of the Go Far Challenge and add some extra bling to your collection (which is what I did)... A must do if you are a 50 stater and need ND! It was like one big block party the entire race! Plenty of water, BLUE powerade, fruit, GU, popsicles, kids with candy and juice boxes and everyone was so friendly! Loved it and the post race food was unbelievable! They even had plenty of food for back of the pack runners like myself! Thank you Fargo!
R. N. from Austin, Texas (5/28/12)
1) very nice expo
2) tree-lined course with lots of shade
3) great crowd support..yes in Fargo.
4) nice finishing line inside the Fargo dome with several jumbo screens showing runners outside and inside the dome
5) best tech shirt with zipper I have ever seen
6) nice pasta dinner with guest speaker
Highly rate this marathon. Truly awesome experience!

This was my first Fargo Marathon and guaranteed I will be back!!! It truly was the flattest and fastest course (hence my half marathon new PB!!) and I cannot wait til next year! My experience was fabulous though - kudos to the Organizers and all of the Volunteers because YOU are what make the Marathon happen - THANK YOU!

We just wanted to Thank YOU and ALL involved in last weeks Fargo 'Rocks' Marathon for such a spectacular experience. It was our first time participating in this event and I cannot express how impressed we were with the whole process. As you know, we are the 'Canadians' who, registered 'Late',(a BIG 'THANK YOU' to the gentleman who answered the phone late Monday Night.) Pulled into town 'Late', and parked our motor home, not where it was suppose to be parked, 'Late!' and all along the the way, you and you staff were so accommodating. How impressed were we??? VERY!!! Thank you again for the Great time (we have told everyone) for one of the best Marathon experiences we have ever had. We look forward to being there again next year. (Bringing of course, more Canadians!)
J. W. from Springfield, Missouri (5/24/12)
All good. Expo, pasta meal, course, fans, swag, post race finish in the Dome. Highly recommend this race.
R. H. from STL (5/23/12)
Fargo marathon was very flat and provides a great opportunity for a PR. The fans along the course and bands were great and the people are very happy you are running in their city.
W. Y. from Kentucky (5/22/12)
Put Fargo on your must do list. You will not be dissapointed! Table top flat course, awesome spectators, ample parking, and how bout that inside Fargo Dome finish! Good enough for a PR and BQ for me. I'll be back! Amazing Race, Excellent for Beginners!
I. W. from Marshall, MN (5/22/12)
This was my first time running the Fargo Marathon and I was extremely pleased. The organization was great, and the fans and community support were amazing! I really enjoyed the rock and roll theme and the residential route the marathon takes. You never know how windy Fargo might be and running through residential areas provides an excellent wind block. I would recommend this race to all runners with a great opportunity to PR!
T. H. from Sherwood, Oregon (5/22/12)
-Excellent organization at the packet pickup, and lots of good merchandise at the expo.
-Loved getting a visual of the finish line before the race.
-Lots and lots of bathrooms always available. I never had to wait once! Also liked being able to use a 'real' bathroom right before and after the marathon.
-Volunteers were helpful, and always was able to find someone if I needed something.
-Race director emailed gave us a heads up that it would be a hot day so we could prepare (Especially helpful since I travelled from Oregon)
-Lots of people had sprinklers ready to deal with the heat, really made a difference.
-I did the 5k the night before, and loved having 3 medals to show for the Go Far Challenge.
A well organized friendly fun race!
B. H. from Winnipeg, MB (5/22/12)
What a beautiful day for a race! Thanks for the well organized race! A great race to run if you are looking for a BQ or PB. Fargo ROCKS!
R. T. from Sisseton, SD (5/22/12)
I ran my first half marathon in Fargo last year and had a fantastic time. I decided it was only fitting to run my first full in Fargo as well. Flat, fast, friendly and FUN! The course runs through many residential areas and people sit out in their lawn chairs for hours cheering on the racers. Children line the streets offering a 'high 5' and a big smile. The volunteers are amazing! From packet pick up to water/aid stations to finish line, thousands of volunteers make this a wonderful experience! Live bands and DJ's along the course pump you up and keep you going. The goodies we received were top notch! An Adidas sinch bag, tech shirt and medal were included. I want to encourage all runners to participate in the GoFar challenge. If you sign up to run the 5K on Friday and any race on Saturday you get your race bag, 2 shirts (one for each race) and 3, yes 3 medals! (one for each race plus one for meeting the 'GoFar Challenge'.) My 13 year old son and I ran the 5K together and have challenged our other family members to at least participate in that event. Anyone can walk/run that distance! Come on out and see what Fargo has to offer you! Counting down the days to next year! |
