Got a question?  Get it answered!  Here are some of our most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)!

How do I register?

You can register online at our secure site. Click on the Registration tab and follow the directions. Remember – there are no refunds, cancellations, or deferrals to future years . Online registration will close on May 14, 2017 at 11:59PM. Registration for the marathon, marathon relay, half marathon and 10K will close when each of those events reach capacity (see below). On race weekend, you may still register for the Youth Run and Friday Night 5K at the Health Expo happening on May 18th and 19th.

Is there a capacity limit (cap) on the distance events?

The Fargo Marathon faces both logistical and materials constraints, necessitating the existence of a capacity limit on these events. We have a cap of 2,000 on the full marathon, 6,500 on the half marathon, and 5,000 for the 10K. The 5K and Youth Runs do not have caps on them. The caps exist to ensure that all participants receive a safe and enjoyable experience along with the perks promised to them.

What events do you offer?

We offer the Cyclothon on Monday night, and the Furgo Dog Run on Tuesday night.  For Running/Walking events, we offer a marathon, 4 person marathon relay, half marathon, 10K, 5K and Youth Run. The Packet Pickup/Expo area opens on Thursday, May 18th at 12:00 Noon and again on Friday, May 19th at 10:00AM for the Running/Walking events.  Please visit the CYCLOTHON and FURGO DOG RUN pages for their respective Packet Pickup specifics.

Are headphones, iPods or MP3 players permitted?

You may wear your headphones, iPods or MP3 players, however, we ask that you keep the volume AT A REASONABLE LEVEL for your own safety and out of courtesy for fellow participants. You should still be able to hear participants and volunteers in proximity to you. BE COURTEOUS OF OTHERS!

Is this a Boston Marathon qualifier?

Yes, the event will be sanctioned by USA Track & Field and the course will be certified, which makes it useable as a Boston Marathon qualifier.

Do I need to return the chip?

No. We are using disposable chips that are attached to your bib. They DO NOT need to be turned in after the race. They should also not be torn off your bib.

Is there a place to shower after the race?

Yes! The lower level of the Fargodome will have men’s and women’s locker rooms complete with shower facilities that all runners are welcome to use. The signs for the showers will be located near the UPS Bag Drop Tables and the showers are just down the hall from there.

Is the course hilly?

NO! Fargo is FLAT, FAST & FRIENDLY!!

Are strollers allowed?

Strollers are allowed in the Youth Run and the 5K. They are not permitted in the marathon, half marathon, 10K or marathon relay. The adult must be a registered runner wearing a bib. The child must stay in the stroller throughout the race.

Can I switch events or transfer my entry to another participant?

You can switch events on the Transfer Page of this website, but please note that there is a $10 administrative fee for doing so. If you switch to a higher entry fee event, you must pay the $10.00 fee plus the price difference for the new race. All switches must be done prior to midnight on May 7, 2017. You may only switch to a different event IF the event that you want to switch to STILL HAS AVAILABILITY. In other words, if the half marathon is sold out, you may not switch from another event into the half marathon. **SWITCHING EVENTS OR TRANSFERRING ENTRIES IS NOT PERMITTED AT THE EXPO. THESE CHANGES MUST BE MADE BY MAY 7th AT MIDNIGHT.
